Performance period 2022 - today
Project In the area of the Neue Niers, damage has already occurred in the past as a result of windthrow on and around the existing dyke structures. As a result, existing trees and shrubs were removed.

The section of the New Niers under consideration extends over a length of approx. 900 m upstream of the Niersee flood retention basin. The section is accompanied on the right by an earthwork dike. Plans envisage a reinforcement of the dike through the installation of a static replacement system. At the same time, the course of the watercourse is to be designed taking into account ecological aspects.

Engineering services Presentation of the existing situation (New Niers, plans for upgrading, nature conservation planning and measures), explanation of the basics (dikes, flood protection, trees, roots, ...).), explanation of the existing regulations, standards, codes of practice and engineering experience, especially taking into account the DSchVO, DIN 19712 and DWA-M 507-1 and 2, possible effects of woody plants on dykes and failure processes, static replacement systems on and in dykes for the preservation of woody plants (basics, Assessment of stability, serviceability, durability of the flood protection system and of nature conservation aspects with regard to the planned tree planting, recommendations for the professional safeguarding of flood protection.
